Prayer is not just a religious ritual. Prayer is a science, enlightenment, a medicine, a meditation, a lifestyle and the bonding that connects God and man.
Prayer is an expression of Hope (Expectation from God)
Prayer is an expression of faith (Belief in God)
Prayer is an expression of humility (To understand External & Eternal status)
Prayer is an expression of peace of mind (To define the inner status)
Prayer has the power to repel negative thoughts.

Man cannot give anything to God by praying, but, at the same time man gets various benefits. The results of many researches show that through prayer, we can make many changes in ourselves physically and mentally. For example, the Pineal Gland inside our brain secretes pleasure-producing peptides that make us happy. Also today’s medical analysis reports that Endorphins, a group of hormones secreted within the brain and nervous system and having a number of physiological functions. They are peptides which activate the body's opiate receptors, causing an analgesic effect that is bringing the man to ecstasy or meditation. When we pray in deep, these glands secrete the peptides which increase the health of our body and mind.
A study and survey conducted among US citizens stated that there was a huge decline in the number of people praying routine from the year 2007 to 2020. Again it is increased to a considerable numbers in the year when COVID-19 threatened their lives.
Most of the US citizens believe God but they don’t have faith in prayers how it will work.

According to the Pew Research Center’s Religious Landscape Study, over half of American adults pray daily, and less than a quarter seldom or never pray. Prayer is not exclusive to the religiously affiliated. Pew finds that 20 percent of Americans who are religiously unaffiliated pray daily and that another 18 percent pray weekly or monthly. Since the advent of the Coronavirus crisis millions of Americans have addressed the fears and challenges raised by COVID-19 through prayer. As part of a new two-dimensional national survey of U.S. adults commissioned by The Presidential Prayer Team, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, profiles the prayer life of Americans. The survey of the general public reveals that in the initial weeks of the pandemic half of all adults (49%) indicated they prayed more than usual in response to the pandemic while just 4% prayed less and four out of ten (41%) did not change their normal prayer practices.

Prayer is a distinct shape of meditation and medication which supports in all the health benefits as said earlier.
Meditation simply denotes the stage of “nothingness” in the man and has been proved clinically that it reduce the stress and tension. Simultaneously it controls blood pressure, to reduce heart rate, to result in cardiorespiratory synchronization, to alter levels of melatonin and serotonin, to suppress corticostriatal glutamatergic neurotransmission, to boost the immune response, to decrease the levels of reactive oxygen species as measured by ultraweak photon emission, to reduce stress and promote positive mood states, to reduce anxiety and pain and enhance self-esteem and to have a favorable influence on overall and spiritual quality of life in late-stage disease. Interestingly, spiritual meditation has been found to be superior to secular meditation and relaxation in terms of decrease in anxiety and improvement in positive mood, spiritual health, spiritual experiences and tolerance to pain.
Prayers give a Positive Vibration
Prayer may be supported by varying degrees of faith and may therefore be associated with all the benefits that have been associated with the placebo response
Clinically significant treatment gains have been observed with placebo in numerous disorders, including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, tardive dyskinesia, ischemic heart disease, cardiac failure, Parkinson's disease and even cancer, among a host of other conditions. Relevant to the context of prayer and healing, the placebo response is influenced by personality traits and behaviors such as optimism, response expectancy, motivational concordance and degree of engagement.
Remedy for Psychological & Personality Traits
Prayer may be associated with improvements that result from spontaneous remission (e.g., depression and mania), regression (to the mean improvement that occurs as a result of random fluctuation in the severity of illness) and nonspecific psychosocial support can reduce anxiety, depression, pain and similar constructs.
Spontaneous remission and regression to the mean may occur coincidental to prayer. Nonspecific psychosocial support related to prayer may arise in group prayer settings.
Prayer as a spiritual interaction of Man with God
In every one of our personal pains, tragedies, illness or distress, social threats, National calamities, on a hopeless situation beyond our control and might, we tend to depend on the supreme power that is Almighty God which makes a spiritual bonding in terms of the faith and hope of God.
Reconstructing the union of societies
Even though, a silent a sole prayer gives lot of benefit personally (Jesus Christ used to do individual prayers), family prayers and group prayers for mutual needs will strengthen the bonding and relationship with families and societies. If people of different religion but with the same faith pray together in one arena, surely it will reconstruct the union among people irrespective of various diversities.
“The LORD is near to all them that call on him, to all that call on him in truth.” (Psalm 145 : 18)
“and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” (Psalm 50 : 15)
“He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.” (Psalm 91 : 15)
“Then shall you call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:12)
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you: 8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
