In Part -1, we have discussed the 6Ms factors - Man, Mind, Moment, Mood, Motives, and Medium, which cause some remarkable effects in our social life and structure. Also, we briefly discussed the factorizing of the first 4 causes. In this part, we are going to analyze the remaining two factors which are Motives and Medium. These two factors are more sensitive and delicate factors with even a smaller quantum of vibration that can cause damage in a higher magnitude level in vulnerable societies.
Motives can be classified into two types - biological motives and psychosocial motives. On the other way, it can be divided into three types - biological, social, and personal. But we can take it as Personal motives and Social motives to discuss here. If we take personal motives there are two types one is physiological motives and another is self-esteem motives. Physiological motives are the primary motives with needs of Food, Drinks, Health, Shelter, Sex, Maternal, physical comfort, Pains for survival. Psychological motives are Safety & Security, Freedom, Adventure, Celebration, Trust, Entertainment, etc., The self-esteem motives are social status, competency, self-concept, power, authority, dignity, Goals, luxuries, comforts, habits, level of aspirations, attitudes, values, achievement, and interests. Social motives are secondary to individuals like social approval, social affiliation, etc.,
In countries like India and some religious & ethnic fundamentalists countries, cultural motives and religious motives are more dominating than any other motives.
These primary motives are more important than the secondary motives(Social motives) in most of the countries and they determine the direction of the social moments/reforms, social life, and social structure to fight for basic necessities, equality, justice, freedom, rights, employment, education, and social safety whereas in India for most of the people the Social motives become the primary motives by the wrong ideologies of some selfish groups to fight for religion, culture, mythology, crony populism or populist nationalism. These ignorant people don't even try to understand the "hidden agenda" of those selfish ethnic groups who indulge the tricks of communal hatred, polarization, radicalization, and xenophobia among other societies of the same religion in India. These ignorant people will not have any motives for freedom, safety, food, water, pure air, health, employment, etc., but they only have the religious motives which have been intrigued in their mindsets for years and years. This is their conspiracy that can leaven their "hidden agenda" of making their own ethnic caste people advanced and monopoly in power & governance, judiciary, education, autocracy, finance, media, wealth, and social & economic status. This selfish ethnic caste is not involved in any conflicts or agitations directly but provokes and conducts fights behind the screen using those ignorant people. So, we can see how the variations of these social motives play a role in the same angle through the different aimings. If any communal disturbances happen, the scapegoats are satisfied with their motives in dealing with the vengeance and the plotters are satisfied with their motives of "divide and rule".
Medium is a very crucial exposing factor that causes a very huge impact in society and particularly during this present technological era. The medium can be biased print media, visual media, social media, communication channels, unjust judicial orders, biased governments' bills and ordinance, autocratic policies, unconstitutional attitudes, Nepotism, groupism, the pace for mistrust, delusion, misinterpretation, disinformation, misinformation, negativity and opportunism, etc.,
Many of the Indian media especially in North Indian media are biased or one-sided on caste, religion, government, political party, the ruling party, corporates, affluent, and power centers. They used to publish "paid news" in favor of their paying masters. Most of their news, propagation, facts & figures, data, visual presentations are to support their favoring ideologies only and we can find a lot of falsehoods, fakes, and misinterpretations in their opinions that deviate even from the proximity of truth. But these media call themselves neutral and transparent. In India, these media are among the few sources which cultivate most of the communal hatred, violence, polarization, radicalization, and social unrest. I must write a book on how social media like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc., are misused by many Indian societies, individuals, groups, political parties to spread rumors, fakes, false, misinformation, or disinformation. I can say more than 90% of information floated from Indian societies through social media is mistrustful but can easily reach most of the population very quickly within a short span rather than the facts. Once the fakes occupy the minds of the people, people are not ready to fact-check but forward as much as they can neglecting the facts. In the fight between fakes and facts, as the majority accepts the fakes, it conquers the facts. This is the current day trend in Indian politics, Elections, and propaganda. Corporates, Ministers in Cabinet, Chiefs, Officials of all Government machinery and bureaucracy are also parts and parcels of this "great" mission. Even Indian Judicial systems are giving judgments based on fakes, myths, movies, and perception rather than facts. Seeing all these, we have no idea whether to laugh at the ignorant people or to curse the crooked people but eventually, we need to call this system "Democracy". It is our fate of facts on fakes.
